The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 2 (EVO 2) is a high-performance sports sedan manufactured by Mitsubishi Motors. It was first introduced in Japan in January 1994 and was the second model in the popular Lancer Evolution series.
The EVO 2 was powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that produced 260 horsepower (194 kW) and 228 lb-ft (310 Nm) of torque. It had a top speed of 144 mph (232 km/h) and could accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in approximately 5.5 seconds.
The EVO 2 featured a four-wheel-drive system with Mitsubishi's advanced Super Active Yaw Control (SAYC) technology, which allowed for improved steering and handling at high speeds. It also had a sport-tuned suspension, Brembo brakes, and a lightweight body made of high-strength steel.
Inside, the EVO 2 had Recaro bucket seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a carbon-fiber trim. It was available in a range of colors, including Satellite Silver Metallic, Scotia White, and Pyreness Black.
The Mitsubishi EVO 2 was sold in limited numbers in Japan and was never officially released in the United States. However, many have been imported and modified for use on the streets and in performance racing. It remains a popular choice among car enthusiasts for its speed, agility, and distinctive styling.
